shotgun fakes acoustic duo

Upbeat and playful performance with brilliant vocals and a toe-tapping song selection.

The ShotGun Fakes, based in London, are an acoustic pop duo from South Africa with Pamela Myburgh on keys/vocals, floor tom and tambourine accompanied by her husband, Stefan Myburgh on acoustic guitar and kick drum.

The duo transforms a range of well known songs spanning from the hits of the 50’s to current hits. Using the on trend approach of bands like ‘Postmodern Jukebox’ the duo add their own organic elements into their interpretations of the very familiar songs and bring a unique flavour to any occasion. They can get the party started with a fun, upbeat atmosphere by performing their renditions of a stunning selection of songs ranging from, ‘Sorry’ (Justin Bieber), ‘Heart of Glass’ (Blondie), ‘Wake me Up’ (Avicii), ‘Roar’ (Katy Perry) to ‘I will Wait’ (Mumford and Sons), ‘Hold back the River’ (James Bay) to mention but a few. They also enjoy creating a slightly subtle and romantic atmosphere with their interpretations of songs like ‘She loves you’ (The Beatles) ‘Time after Time’ (Cyndi Lauper), ‘XO’ (Beyonce) and ‘ Hotline Bling’ (Drake).

No strangers to live performance, Shotgun Fakes were born out of the award winning South African band, The Arrows, who toured the US and South Africa extensively up until 2013. Pamela and Stefan composed #1 radio hit singles for the band (The Arrows) over the last few years including the song that received the prestigious South African Music Award for most played song on radio for South Africa in 2014.

Shotgun Fakes have performed at loads of weddings, parties, corporate functions, festivals, clubs and pubs, hotel lounges and the likes. They are highly recommended to anyone who wants to hire high quality live, unique entertainment for their event.

TESTIMONIALS:
Rozlyn and Tyronne Wedding
The Shotgun Fakes created an amazing vibe at our wedding and added that extra special touch! To this day all our guests still comment on how fabulous they were! Can’t wait for the next big event in our lives to use them again!

Brenda Haynes’ 40th Birthday
I had Pam and Stefan of the Shotgun Fakes play at my 40th birthday bash and we had the most unforgettable experience with them. I had a long lunch, with Pam singing 3 sets of awesome songs while all my guests mingled, chatted, caught up and snacked on lunch. Later in the evening, they moved onto doing some deejaying and played the most amazing music that the crowd just loved and danced the night away to! Since then, I have had numerous requests for their number for future gigs. My daughter sang a song for me as a surprise and Pam played the accompanying music for her, without hesitation! I can highly recommend Shotgun Fakes for any special occasion. Thank you for making my day so memorable.

Jane and Skumbuzo’s Wedding
One of the main highlights of our very special day was having Pam and Stef of Shotgun Fakes perform our wedding song for us mid ceremony. As per our request, as we were signing the registry, when they gave the most memorable performance of ‘You Make Me Feel Brand New,’ by Simply Red. They had the guests (and ourselves) in awe as we sat back a few precious moments in our nuptials to enjoy. I highly recommend this fabulous duo.

Dean and Teresa Barnes’ Wedding
In all of the wedding decisions that we made, booking Shotgun Fakes to perform at our ceremony was by far the best choice! We knew for certain that we would wanted Pam to perform, ‘Lovestory’ by Shirley Bassey but the combination of Stef’s exquisite Spanish guitar work and Pam’s angelic voice was beyond our expectation. What a stunning couple. I had many wedding guests request their number.

Fiona and Jon‘s Wedding
Pam and Stef really went out of their way to perform for us at our wedding because they flew from Durban, South Africa to the Algarve,Portugal to do it! We saw them perform at another wedding that we were at and we knew we had to have them play at our wedding and se we are grateful that they agreed to have us fly them to Portugal for the wedding week. Among other amazing songs, Shotgun Fakes performed our first dance, ‘What A Wonderful World,’ After performing a couple of more relaxed sets between dinner and speeches, the group got the party going with some more vibey tunes as Pam sings, plays keys and drums at the same time! After getting all our guests on their feet they switched to djing and played into the early hours of the morning. Thank you for making our dream wedding so special.
