kerrie Anne

From her humble beginnings in the church choir Kerrie-Anne knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life singing her soul out. Channelling the influence of music legends Gladys Knight, Candi Staton and Shirley Caesar was how she swept the congregation into goose-bump inducing moments, resonating true emotion, raw talent and a real human connection.

Kicking off her UK music experience, Kerrie-Anne was humbled by an invitation to perform for Nelson Mandela at South Africa House in 2007 after which she went on to perform at various notable charity and festive events throughout the city, for the likes of international dignitaries including Tony Blair and Bishop Desmond Tutu. Not a bad start at all.

Refusing to limit her skills, Kerrie-Anne decided to relocate to very unexpected and unfamiliar surroundings; Dubai, in order to pursue a career in international teaching. This experience proved to be very beneficial for her personal and professional growth as a singer/songwriter, and gave her the opportunity to work with esteemed musicians, DJ’s and music pioneers, including Dubai Radio 2’s DJ Schooly, releasing house chart toppers ‘Keep on Lovin’ Me’ and ‘Believe’, and house music connoisseur Frederick Stone.

During her 5 year residency in Dubai, Kerrie-Anne discovered a deeper meaning to her voice and developed an obsession with connecting with people through music. Her vocal style has become a reflection of her culture, environment and life experiences, which have melted together to create a hybrid music style. Drawing on the sounds of influential modern Indie artists such as James Bay, The Script and Lion Babe, Kerrie-Anne strikes a delectable balance of soulful vocals and the raw and moving sounds of the Indie genre- ‘Indie Soul’- as she likes to call it.

Wasting no time, and with an insatiable hunger to inspire people with her music, Kerrie Anne rapidly and steadfastly made an indelible mark in Dubai’s music scene, going on to perform in award winning shows such as ‘Kalubela’ and at some of the most prestigious events and venues in the Middle East. With the likes of Pacha Ibiza Dubai, Formula 1 and the highly publicised Runway Dubai fashion show under her belt it is easy to recognise Kerrie-Anne as one the city’s most esteemed and sought after artists. Throughout her time in Dubai, Kerrie-Anne blazed her way through the events scene with machine like stamina building up a solid reputation for live music.

In June 2015, Kerrie Anne pursued her most challenging and interesting task yet. She returned to England to introduce herself to the British public as a soul singer determined to take on bigger success. This desire to further her career saw her enter world famous entertainment show ‘The X Factor UK’, where she gave her best performances yet. Performing a heart-warming rendition of ‘Help’ by Tina Turner Kerrie-Anne earned a 4000 strong standing ovation on the stage where some of history’s kings and queens of music once stood. Throughout the competition she was praised by the judges for her sleek and powerful vocal style and captivating stage presence.

“My exit out of the competition was right on time. I was meant to go as far as I did and I am grateful for the exposure and confidence it has given me to push my career further.”

Presently, Kerrie-Anne continues to song write and is collaborating with a number of music producers for the summer 2016 release of her first EP. Never neglecting her passion for children she enjoys visiting schools and spreading the message of ‘chasing your dreams’ with aspiring young musicians.
