This Blondie Tribute is Europe’s Official number one Blondie tribute band. They are the only Blondie tribute to play at the legendary CBGBs in New York City before it’s sad closure. CBGBs was the Holy Grail of American Punk and New Wave, where the real Blondie first began their career.
Debbie Harry got in touch with the band when she heard they were playing CBGBs in New York City to wish them good luck with their show and both Debbie and Chris Stein have signed their guitars. When Clem Burke, Blondie’s charming drummer, found out that they were making a replica of his Premier drum kit, he arranged for them to meet him and signed their bass drum skin too.
The lead singer of the band, who emulates Debbie Harry, has the looks, the voice and the attitude of the original Blonde Bombshell and like her heroine is typically outrageous on stage. She has been known to wear dustbin liners, thigh length boots and t.shirts with more holes than t.shirt!
Debbie has appeared as a Deborah Harry look-a-like on TV and has also been featured in the Sunday Observer newspaper, photographed by the famous rock photographer Kevin Cummins, who co-incidentally has worked with the real Deborah Harry and Blondie!
This amazing tribute band have played the Isle Of Wight Festival, the 100 Club & the Hammersmith Palais in London, Erics in Liverpool and can be seen at all the major venues across the UK.
